Having a texting conversation where we both behaved like teenagers (Hester 34, Me 37) and I ended up laughing so much. Hester always brought a smile to my face. Still does when I think of her. X

To Millie and Maika, Your mama was such a lovely lady. Always only wanted the best for both you girls. I remember when she gave me a book to encourage me to breast feed!! Such an inspirational woman. You should be VERY proud of her. Lots of love, xxx

Thank you Hester, for being the first person at work that made me feel truly welcome! For taking the time with someone in a whole different department. Thank you for bringing your daughter to work and letting me play with her (we all giggled when I put her welly on my foot!) And thank you for being delighted when I helped you with the tips wheely bin. I will always have time for you. Xx

My first memory of Hester: I first met Hester when she came for Millie’s previsit. Millie was sat on Hester’s lap by the window. Hester knew what she wanted for Millie and that was to be loved, cared for and given lots of cuddles. Everything she wanted was in the best interest of the girls. And I had the pleasure of having Maika and I remember how happy Hester was when Maika gave me a cuddle and settled. She always wanted to know what made the girls happy. She was always telling me off for not wearing my hearing aids. She was supportive and encouraging and made me laugh with her stories. And her and Tom coming home when I babysat and the long chats we had.

Hester, your wonderful smile and generous nature will always be reflected in Millie and Maika, always remembered, and held in all of our hearts.

Dear Hester, I didn't know you very long, which makes the lovely morning we spent while Millie and Sapphira played all the more special. Lots of love, rest in peace.

I remember Hester's huge smile and sparkling eyes. When Hester kissed me hello and goodbye I really felt loved by a true and genuine friend. I remember great conversations and laughs. I remember all the times you came to our rescue when we'd got locked out of the house, locked out of the car in Swansea and I'm sure many more. Lots of love, xxx

I remember having a giggle with hester over the "quirky" things about the UK... The British media's obsession with bad weather particularly snow and how impractical British taps are (often seperate for hot and cold as opposed to the "mixed temperature" types common in Europe. Love.

"Where is your lab coat?!" The phrase you said to me the most! You will certainly be missed but never forgotten. You were a warm, kind and helpful person. Glad our paths in life crossed. May you rest in peace. xxx
